Women with Myasthenia Gravis are Twice as Likely to Have a Planned Casarean Section

This Norwegian study aimed to estimate the risks of childbirth in a maternal myasthenia gravis cohort based on nationwide data from the Medical Birth Registry of Norway. Jenny Linderoos presents in this MEDtalk the study, showing that the risks for elective cesarean section and induced labor were increased, but not for emergency cesarean section. Only a few myasthenia gravis-exposed children had transient neonatal myasthenia gravis, but a large group of the children were referred to a neonatal ward.
