Patients with Secondary Progressive MS Have a Higher Mortality than Those with Primary Progressive MS

At ECTRIMS 2024, Melinda Magyari presented a study that analyzed mortality trends in multiple sclerosis (MS) patients in Denmark using Danish Multiple Sclerosis Registry data. It showed that patients with secondary progressive MS had a significantly higher mortality risk and lived about ten years shorter than primary progressive MS patients, emphasizing the need to focus on managing this stage of MS.
