High Infection Burden and Mortality in CLL Patients: A Call for Action
A Swedish-Icelandic study highlights that approximately 60% of patients with CLL experience secondary infections requiring hospital care over time. Infections were identified as the primary cause of death in about 10% of these patients and a contributing factor in 32% of cases. Professor Ingrid Glimelius, oncologist at Uppsala University, Sweden, presents the data in this MEDtalk, offering her perspectives on strategies to address this challenge in the management of CLL patients.
