Clinical Controversies in Axillary Management in Breast Cancer

In this MEDtalk Irma Frederiksson, senior consultant in breast cancer surgery at Karolinska University, Sweden, and Tove Filtenborg Tvedskov, professor in breast surgery and senior consultant at the Department of Breast Surgery, Gentofte Hospital, Denmark, present some of the clinical controversies in axillary management in breast cancer. A paradox is that, even though axillary management in breast cancer is based on the same evidence, there are differences between the Nordic countries, for example, in terms of the type of patients and treatment guidelines regarding axillary surgery.
