ASCO 2026: Selective PARP1 Inhibitor Shows Encouraging Early Results

At ASCO 2026, Martin Højgaard, MD, PhD, Consultant at the Phase 1 Unit, Department of Oncology, Rigshospitalet, Denmark, presented phase 1/2 data on the PARP1-selective inhibitor EIK1003 as monotherapy and in combination with paclitaxel in advanced solid tumors. The combination demonstrated encouraging anti-tumor activity and a manageable hematological safety profile in heavily pretreated patients with ovarian and breast cancer. Højgaard also highlighted that the findings represent the first clinical evidence that a selective PARP1 inhibitor can be safely combined with cytotoxic chemotherapy.
