Maja Skov Kragsnæs is a Medical Doctor, Associate Professor, and PhD at the Rheumatology Research Unit at Odense University Hospital and the University of Southern Denmark.

Maja Skov Kragsnæs focuses on the role of microbiota in the development and progression of inflammatory rheumatic diseases and chronic bowel inflammation, as well as on whether manipulation of the gut’s microbial environment (e.g., through fecal microbiota transplantation, FMT) could serve as a beneficial supplement to existing immunosuppressive treatments for these diseases.

Her research interests include how research on the human microbiome can be applied clinically in the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of autoimmune and immune-mediated diseases.
