Lars Kjøbsted Markvardsen

Dr Lars Markvardsen is a senior registrar and specialist in neurology at the Department of Neurology, Aarhus University Hospital, Denmark.

Since 2010, he has worked with intravenous immunoglobulin (IVIG) and subcutaneous immunoglobulin (SCIG) treatment for patients with CIDP, and has conducted several clinical trials with SCIG evaluating its clinical effects, feasibility, and associated adverse events; including two randomized, controlled studies of SCIG versus placebo and SCIG versus IVIG.

He attained his PhD in 2016 and has published 33 papers in peer-reviewed journals and served as a reviewer for several international journals. Moreover, he has supervised pre-graduate medical students and PhD‑students.

He is a junior member of the European Academy of Neurology and has been a member of the editorial board on the National Treatment guideline for Neurology within the Danish Neurological Society and the advisory board writing the guideline: “Immune modulatory treatment with immunoglobulin in CIDP” within the Danish Medicines Council.
