AD/PD 2026: Annual Care Costs in Alzheimer’s Disease and Dementia

At the AD/PD Conference 2026, Yohannes Mengistu Balcha from Karolinska Institutet in Stockholm, Sweden, presented a poster featuring a model for developing a cost function to estimate annual formal care costs for patients with Alzheimer’s disease (AD) and dementia, taking into account demographic factors, cognitive status, care setting, and time since the dementia diagnosis.
