AD/PD 2026: Visceral Adipose Tissue as a Potential Therapeutic Target in Alzheimer’s Disease

At the AD/PD 2026 conference David Baglietto-Vargas presented, results of a study showing that visceral adipose tissue appears to exacerbate tau pathology via activation of the innate immune system. If the data are replicated and validated in future studies, the findings indicate a promising target for therapeutic intervention in AD.
