Obesity is a known risk factor for multiple myeloma, but its role in the development and progression of MGUS remains unclear. In this MEDtalk, Sæmundur Rögnvaldsson, MD, PhD, Hematology Fellow at Sahlgrenska University Hospital, Sweden, and Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Iceland, presents findings from iStopMM on obesity and the risk of MGUS and progression to multiple myeloma. He also discusses the association between weight changes and M-protein levels over time, as well as findings on diet and MGUS.
