ASCO 2026: Gedatolisib Shows Significant PFS Benefit in PIK3CA Wild-Type HR+/HER2− Advanced Breast Cancer

Sara Hurvitz, Medical Oncologist and Professor of Medicine at the University of Washington and Fred Hutch Cancer Center, Seattle, discusses the phase 3 VIKTORIA-1 trial of gedatolisib
in patients with PIK3CA wild-type, HR+/HER2− advanced breast cancer previously treated with a CDK4/6 inhibitor, presented at ASCO 2026. The study showed that gedatolisib plus fulvestrant, with or without palbociclib, significantly improved PFS versus fulvestrant alone, while showing low rates of hyperglycemia and diarrhea.
